A Night Owl

I have always been a Night Owl...It really started at the end of high school and into college.  I majored in Interior Design {and partying! lol} and I had a ton of projects and nighttime seemed to be when I did my best work.  Looking back now, I think that the bad combination of Perfectionism and Procrastination was the major factor in my Night Owlism.  I also think that another major reason was that I seem to come alive around 10 pm and I love being awake and working on creative things, without the distractions of daytime life.  No phone calls or interruptions from other people, it was time for just me to work on things.

However, I have recently made it a point to get more than the 5 hours a night that I was averaging every night.  I could just tell that I wasn't letting my body get enough rest, so I decided to force myself to go to bed earlier every night...well at least Sunday - Thursday nights.  It was hard at first, but I soon realized that I was feeling so much better and not as crabby...what a shock!  I have been blogging after I put Reese to bed at night and tonight I am really dragging.  I couldn't fall asleep last night and I can totally tell that I need to get some sleep...

But don't worry...I will never go to bed at the same time as my kid...you can make the Night Owl go to bed earlier, but you can't make it an Early Bird!

Good Night!
